NIH Public Access Policy Resources Page

The new NIH Public Access Policy mandates that as of April 7, 2008 scientists submit journal final peer-reviewed manuscripts, that arise from NIH funds, to the digital archive PubMed Central (http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/). The Policy requires that these articles be accessible to the public on PubMed Central to help advance science and improve human health.

After May 25, 2008, all NIH applications, proposals, and progress reports must include the PubMed Central reference number when citing a paper that falls under the policy and is authored or co-authored by the investigator.

Does this apply to you?

You are in luck! The Tucker Medical Library has developed a slide show and resource page to help you figure out how to submit your articles. Most publishers submit your manuscripts for you.

But, just in case, look at these resources and the 10 minute slide show (if you read every word!) to find out the details.
