The month of June brought several devastating fires to Colorado mountains and towns. Two of the largest fires have consumed over 100,000 acres of land.
According to the Colorado Division of Emergency Management (CDEM), the High Park fire near Fort Collins has burned over 87,000 acres and is 85% contained. The Waldo Canyon fire, in and near Colorado Springs, continues to burn. On Wednesday afternoon, CDEM estimated that the fire had burned 15,527 acres and was only 5% contained.
